Mandarin Dictionaries

A good dictionary for beginners should be a two way dictionary:
English- Chinese and Chinese-English.

It must also use the pinyin pronunciation.

Simplified Chinese characters must be used throughout the dictionary.

A radical index is essential to find out the characters, but the pinyin index makes looking up characters faster than the radical index, if you already know the pronunciation.
